Our Vision
The Citaapi Mahtii Affordable Housing Society was formed in 2019 to provide affordable housing for indigenous people in Port Alberni.
The Society believes that safe, affordable, and secure housing for Indigenous people in the Port Alberni region provides the foundation for a healthy quality of life. The well-being of families, the growth and development of children, the safety and wellbeing of youth, and the health outcomes of seniors are determined in a large part by the quality of their living environment.
The vision of the Society is to create homes for people in a community that embraces the Indigenous history, values, and culture of the region. The vision will incorporate many key elements that make a wholesome, healthy, and safe living environment that is multicultural and multigenerational.
